September 19-20th Furuboda

The 7th Edgar Cayce EuroCongress - 2009 - will take place at an educational facility in the village of Furuboda in Southern Sweden, September 19-20, 2009.

Theme: The Developement of Consciousness...

Because of the present world situation, it is especially appropriate that this year’s Congress theme is “The Development of the Consciousness”. As we come to realize that everything has meaning and purpose, we learn new ways of thinking and behaving.

Information

The Edgar Cayce Conference will utilize the entire Furuboda Conference Center including the auditorium, meeting rooms, lodging facilities and a restaurant. The meeting rooms will be used by Conference specialists providing personal therapy application. Lodging is available both at the Center and at Kastanjelund, a hotel nearby.

The Congress begins the morning of Saturday September 19th. There will be a Congress dinner Saturday evening. The close of the Congress will be Sunday afternoon. Lectures will be in Danish, Swedish and English. The Danish and Swedish lectures will be simultaneously translated into English where English speaking participants will watch the lecturer on a wide screen in an adjacent room. The three English lectures will be translated into Swedish. All lectures will be audio recorded and made available after the congress.

The organizing team of Euro Congress 2009 chose the Furuboda Competence Centre, in Southern Sweden, as an appropriate venue.

It is a high school started in 1960 by a group of enthusiastic people who considered that youngsters with physical handicaps should have the same access to education as others. After a modest start, the school has grown and now employs almost 200 people working on both national and international projects. It is the largest employer in the area. The activities are run by an association of volunteers. Their vision is to create responsible people thinking for themselves. It is a non-profit organization based on Christian principles, but it also works actively with science and modern research.

The atmosphere there is fully compatible with the thinking of Edgar Cayce. It is a caring environment, accessible for people with all kinds of handicaps, it is near Mother Nature, only half a mile from the sea and surrounded by a beautiful forest.

Programme

The Congress will start on Saturday, September 19, and continue until Sunday, September 20. All the lecturers at Euro Congresses are volunteers. The talks are given in English. Interpreting from English into Swedish will be provided.

The main auditorium can seat 200 persons. It is modern, in light colours and well equipped. The speakers will have access to overhead projector, electronic projector for PowerPoint presentations and, of course, white- and paperboards. Microphone and loudspeakers are standard. The talks will be audiorecorded and later transfered to mp3-CDs, so there will be little need to take notes.

A smaller conference room has been booked for parallel activities, such as workshops and therapies.

Saturday evening at 9.30 pm, after the dinner and outside the official programme, some Swedish members will meet to meditate and receiving a message of spiritual wisdom through Gudrun Kjellander. Welcome.
